![]() Maxi Sound Fortissimo + ACID DJ Acid DJ in 2000 In 2003, Acid became part of Sony Creative Software and Sony developped the Acid Pro family, whose last release was Acid Pro 7 in 2009. We included Acid DJ in our Fortissimo sound card in 2000, it was our first tool for DJs, 3 years before our release of Hercules DJ Console Mk1. ACID is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) loop lovers know: the first Acid of 1998 let users can drag loops on a timeline and the loops were synched on the tempo of the track, it was the easiest tool to do remix (none of the DJ software your know (Traktor, VirtualDJ, Serato) was released yet). We have been waiting for years, and Acid is back, with Acid Pro 8. What is more important is that, after 2 updates (Traktor 2.11.1 and 2.11.2) which were mainly maintenance updates, this new release of Traktor Pro 2 really changes some features, so it proves Native Instruments is still interested in Traktor Pro 2.ĪCID Pro is back. The features, described here, are - some bug fixes for macOS, - improved visibility in the browser on macOS, - the support of several Pioneer CDJ players - timecode compatibility for some Pioneer DJM mixers and Allen & Heath Xone mixers. Native Instruments has released yesterday of Traktor Pro 2.11.3 update. A full feature set will be announced on September 25. And DJs using an external mixer can now route unprocessed audio directly from TRAKTOR, thanks to a new mode that bypasses the software’s internal mixer. Several brand-new features have also been added: TRAKTOR PRO 3 now includes Mixer FX – one-knob effect and filter controls that can be assigned to each channel independently and used for big buildups and transitions. The user interface has been redesigned with a sharper and flatter look for better readability in club environments, while the intuitive workflow, to which many performers have become accustomed, remains intact. TRAKTOR PRO 3, the full version of which is included with both new hardware releases, is the most stable version of the software yet, and uses the new Elastique 3 time-stretching engine for noticeable audio improvements. The announcement sees TRAKTOR build on almost two decades of club heritage to extend the possibilities of DJ performance and provide performers of all genres and abilities with the tools they need to define their own style.
